Would you like to study an instrument? Take part in an ensemble? What is your artistic dream? Lakeside Academy offers Beginning and Advanced String Ensembles, Chamber Groups, Choir and Composition. Private lessons are also available with our experienced guild members or student teachers.

Weekly classes begin Tuesday January 27th

Take your music skills to the next level
This class is for students who can read music and understand basic time signatures and are ready to build on what they’ve learned in beginner lessons and basic theory. We’ll strengthen core skills and introduce new concepts that help musicians grow with confidence and understanding.
What You’ll Learn
- How music is put together and why it works
- Stronger rhythm, harmony, and melodic skills
- Introduction to writing and understanding multiple musical parts
- How to recognize common musical patterns and forms

This course is designed to bridge the gap between beginner instruction and more advanced musical study, helping students reach the next musical level with confidence.
Age 7 and up.
No experience in choir required.
Taught Dr. Melody Smith and Sarah Keister - covering Contemporary and Classical repertoire.

A second level of the Crickets Violin class for students who are ready for more challenging repertoire.

Perfect for graduates of the Crickets and Bullfrogs
A class for those who wish to begin playing guitar - Taught by Joel Hickman

Students will work through a Level 1 guitar book, learning:
• Basic songs • Notes in 1st position • Essential chords
🎼 Classical Technique
Step-by-step instruction in proper left and right-hand
classical guitar methods.
🤝 Play Together
Ensemble practice and performance are part of every class — helping students build confidence and musicianship in a fun, supportive group setting. Ages 10 and up

Experience in choir is heavily recommended, but not required.
Taught by Lane Keister.
First half hour covers note reading and vocal technique. Last hour covers contemporary and classical repertoire.

Academy Cello Ensemble is a cello celebration- we play music specifically written and arranged for cellos to play together as a group. This Ensemble is open to all cellists through high school age. We cannot accept absolute beginners, but apart from that, every playing level will be accommodated!
