What Ages Can Participate?

Lakeside is open to ages 7 through post–high school students.
If your child is under 7, please contact us to discuss readiness and available options.

Do I Need Private Lessons?

Private lessons are not required, but they are highly recommended for all students to support individual progress and confidence.

Do You Offer Private Lessons?

Yes. Lakeside will connect you with an instructor that fits your needs.

  • Lessons are scheduled directly with the instructor.

  • Payment is arranged directly between you and your instructor.

Where Can I Get an Instrument?

We recommend Plum Grove Music in Hebron, IN for purchasing, renting, or servicing your instrument.

How Can I Pay My Tuition?

We accept:

Entry Audition Requirements
(Symphonic Orchestra)

First Stand Audition Requirements

Ready to take a leadership role in our Symphonic Orchestra? First-stand placements for all instruments will be determined by a brief audition.

Audition excerpt (all instruments):
Handel — Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 7, Movement II (Allegro)

Tempo: quarter note = 134

Prepare the excerpt with clear articulation, consistent tempo, and confident phrasing. This placement determines  rotating principal and co-principal chairs.
